Hi, I’m Shacarie — founder of Oak + Orchid.

Oak + Orchid was born out of a deep love for making spaces feel like home. For over 20 years, I worked as a licensed cosmetologist, helping people feel confident, seen, and cared for. Over time, I realized I was doing the same thing in my own home — moving furniture, styling shelves, chasing natural light, creating cozy moments. What started as a personal passion slowly grew into a calling I couldn’t ignore.

As a working mom of two, wife, and creative at heart, I understand the need for a home that’s not only beautiful, but also functional, peaceful, and truly livable. I began helping friends and family redesign their spaces, combining what they already had with just a few thoughtful touches to completely transform the way their homes felt — and they kept asking for more.

So I took the leap. I blended my love for design with my knack for organization, planning, and working with people, and Oak + Orchid was born.

Why “Oak + Orchid”?

The name reflects the heart of my work:

• Oak represents strength, grounding, and structure — the backbone of a well-designed space.

• Orchid symbolizes beauty, calm, and intentional growth — the soul of the home.

Together, they represent what I bring into every project: balance, simplicity, and a touch of beauty that feels personal and real.
